Marjorie McAllister, the founder of Restoring Broken Vessels, is a motivational and inspirational speaker located in Bridgeport, CT. Since 2003, she has been delivering powerful speeches to various organizations and groups. With a background as the former Manager of Steps to Success, a community outreach initiative under the original Dress for Success Mid-Fairfield County, Marjorie established Restoring Broken Vessels in 2007.
Marjorie also served as the Program Assistant of Dress for Success Mid-Fairfield County, providing clothing and job retention support to individuals entering or reentering the workplace, influencing positive change in the lives of men and women of all ages. She frequently visited Danbury Women’s Prison and Niantic Prison to motivate inmates before their reentry into society.
In 2006, Marjorie traveled to Benin, West Africa, to help build an educational institution. In 2007, with support from board members, she founded the Ministry of Restoring Broken Vessels, which focuses on educating and empowering women who have experienced abusive relationships to find hope and healing through faith.
Marjorie is a graduate of Duff's Business College in Jamaica, West Indies, the University of Bridgeport, and The Women's Campaign School at Yale. She also studied psychology and Christian Ministries at Regent University and holds certifications as a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Counselor and expertise in Pastoral Care counseling.
As a Business Outreach Specialist at The Black Business Alliance, Marjorie aids Black entrepreneurs in realizing their business dreams. She has served as the chairperson of the 2006 Parent Conference of the Executive Parent Advisory Council and on committees such as Americares Free Clinic Committee and The Bridgeport Child Advocacy (BCAC).
Marjorie has received recognition for her community service, including awards from Workplace Inc. and ABCD in 2005. In 2009, she received a commendation from Governor Jodi Rell for her outstanding community work.
Marjorie McAllister currently resides in Bridgeport with her husband, mother, eight children, 17 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Marjorie also hosts The Worship Cafe Television production alongside her husband on Soundview Public Access Television.
